Did I do it again?

First: THANK YOU! I woke up to all sorts of lovely birthday wishes and cards and fics and pretty boys and I shall do a proper thank you post later pointing at them all because it's all about the sharing.

Right now, I'm disappearing for the day with David but before I do...

I had feedback for yesterday's fic asking what a book token is. It's too late to edit at 852 but if it's not something Jim would know about, I can fix it here on LJ and when I post to my page.

Would he know? It's a gift card, specifically to let you buy a book. Maybe now that all book shops sell everything but the kitchen sink, it's not called that? But then, I still say, let's go to the video store and rent a DVD...

Loot!

I've had a wonderful day. David and I went out for the day and enjoyed being together, alone (the peace!). We drove up to Waterloo and went to a large secondhand bookstore where I got six books, then onto a giant LCBO where we stocked up on wine. Then we went to a bistro for lunch and I had duck and apple spring rolls (D had Pad Thai)/ And proved I belong in Canada by going after the waitress as she left us a bill for a much cheaper salad and telling her ours cost more. Our table was under a huge, six feet by four canvas of a naked man in a collar and cuffs which seemed in keeping with the rest of the day (made for Jane)as we got parking spaces just where we wanted them and the rain started when we were in the car going home. We finished off the day by going to a nursery and buying plants and now David is cooking me a roast duck dinner (I like duck :-)).

I've had mostly DVDs as they're what I wanted. There's something very satisfying about having them all nice and tidy and permanent and mine.
