I'm thrilled to announce that Truthful Change, co-written with Alexa, has now been released by Loose Id. Alexa and I had such a good time writing and researching this one and I hope that people enjoy it.

As ever, as always, I couldn't have asked for a better co-writer and I can't wait for us to start a new project in the fall.

We'd both like to thank [personal profile] tx_cronopio for giving the book a onceover to make sure that we'd got the Dallas setting correct; thank you so much for all the little details you caught! ::hugs::

Thanks go also to Judi, our wonderful editor, all the proofing and admin staff at Loose Id, and April Martinez who creates some of the most gorgeous covers out there.

Truthful Change can be purchased as an e-book here.

And here's an excerpt from it:

excerpt )

Karl Blake's good at a lot of things: killing bad guys, rescuing hostages...and looting priceless diamonds, but when a bullet ends his career as a mercenary he discovers that he's really bad at living in a huge house with nothing to do. A shy, oddly sexy gardener with an unexpected liking for rough sex seems just what the doctor ordered for his boredom. But Adam's got secrets that make Karl's seem mundane, and if the two of them are going to find a future together, there's a lot more to deal with than dandelions in the lawn.

With the past and the present combining to push them apart, betrayal, hurt, and mistrust around every corner, the two of them need to focus less on labels and more on what they are to each other.

Because a rose by any other name...

I share because maybe I'm not the only one in the world who didn't know how to do this.

When you have a frying pan and it's gunked up good from say, pan frying a burger, half fill it with water and a squirt of washing up liquid and put it back on the burner. Simmer the water gently for twenty mins or so and the gunk lifts up and away like magic.

Just don't forget it's simmering and let the water boil away...that's not so good :-)

[personal profile] rubywisp tagged me and I can't say no to Ruby.

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 4-7 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest (unless it's too troublesome to reach and is really heavy. Then go back to step 1).
6. Tag five people.(umm, I don't do this bit usually)

It's my book amazingly, since Lauren strews books around the house like confetti.

Patricia Wentworth The Girl in the Cellar, the last and IMO weakest of the Miss Silver books.

"Yes -- yes, I can see that. But she'll need money, Will you see that she has what she wants? I'll give you a cheque. Will fifty pounds be all right?"

"Yes, Mr. Fancourt."

"Couldn't you tell me where she is?"

She smiled.

"I think it will be better if I do not."

Can now see why Ian Edgerton is a popular choice to slash Charlie people with.

Oh my, yes ::fans self::

Quietly competent, hot, snarky, confrontational when needed but prepared to back down, hot, totally unintimidated by but appreciative of Charlie's brains, hot....
